Discount Car and Truck Rentals is a Canadian owned and operated company. We are a renowned industry leader with over 300 offices across Canada. As a result of our continued growth and success, we are currently searching for a new Human Resources Business Partner in Calgary, Alberta!

  

Job Profile:


As a member of the Human Resources team, the HRBP is based in Calgary and responsible for various facets of HR including, recruiting new employees through traditional and non-traditional methods across Alberta and B.C. This key role is also responsible for full cycle recruitment and onboarding, assisting with new employee orientation, and act as the point of contact for matters pertaining to employee relations and health and safety. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in a similar role and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment and new employee onboarding
  • Responsible as point of contact for employee relations
  • Interview candidates, conduct reference checks and administer various testing tools
  • Determine new recruiting avenues and their effectiveness
  • Organize and attend career fairs
  • Assist with health and safety initiatives
  • Provide expertise and innovative recommendations on developing and managing a recruitment process that will improve the overall organizational effectiveness
  • Participate and organize in staff appreciation nights and engagement efforts
  • Manage employee data using, Payroll, ATS and Onboarding software
  • Ad hoc administration and support as needed for the Director of Operations

Critical Competencies:

  • Post-secondary education in human resources or 1 - 2 years of equivalent experience in a related field
  • Microsoft office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • A team oriented, outgoing personality highly motivated to convey our corporate culture to new and existing team members
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
